CODEN: OPEGAR. ISSN: 0091-3286. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 74 (Radiation Chemistry, Photochemistry, and Photographic and Other Reprographic Processes) The enhancement of a laser speckle photog. technique by means of a modification of the film development procedure is presented. Using a holog. film, an amplitude specklegram can be changed to a phase specklegram. This conversion is achieved during the film development procedure by a controlled bleaching of the exposed film. The contrast and visibility of Young's fringes reconstructed from a phase specklegram are better than those from an amplitude specklegram. The diffraction efficiency of a phase specklegram is greater than that of an amplitude specklegram. The exptl. arrangement and the method to get a phase specklegram are described. The phase specklegram characteristics are presented in detail and exptl. results are discussed. .

- The thermal decomposition of iron(III) nitrate nonahydrate followed by a reaction with hydrogen. Hill, William D., Jr. (Dep. Chem., North Carolina Central Univ., Durham, NC 27707, USA). Inorg. There are some reagents with their cas registry numbers 1317-61-9 and 7782-61-8 are used in this study. Chim. Acta, 121(2), L33 (English) 1986. CODEN: ICHAA3. ISSN: 0020-1693. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 78 (Inorganic Chemicals and Reactions) The thermal decompn. of Fe(NO3)3.9H2O gave a-Fe2O3 which on treatment with H was converted to Fe3O4. Although the thermal decompn. of Fe(NO3)3.9H2O was based on the thermal decompn. of Cr(NO3)3.9H2O, the decompn. is similar to that of Cu(NO3)2, Pb(NO3)2, Sr(NO3)2, and Ba(NO3)2 in that the valence of Fe is the same before and after thermal decompn. .
