Thus, a leaching soln. contg. Fe 46.2, Cr 2.22, Mn 9.8, Cl 216 g/L was treated with Mg, NaOH, Na2CO3, NaHCO3, and NH4OH to ppt. Cr. 7440-47-3 and 7789-04-0 are cas registry numbers of chemicals which are used as reagents here. The purest product, contg. 36.0% Cr and 0.3% Fe, was prepd. by treating the leaching soln. with Mg metal at pH 3.9. The product was dissolved in NaClO to prep. a soln. of Na2CrO4. The prepn. of various pigments contg. CrPO4.6H2O, Na2CrO4, and other compd. is described. .

Detn. of the colloid particles size by electron microscopy has shown that their size is in 0.01-0.05 .mu.m range with maximal no. of the particles near 0.03 .mu.m. This particle size makes this colloid suitable for liver scanning.Except for chemicals metioned above, 7789-04-0 and 14119-09-6 are also used. .
