DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 78 (Inorganic Chemicals and Reactions) Section cross-reference(s): 73 A large no. of CdSe nanorod-assembled micro-tubes are prepd. via a hydrothermal method in an ethanolamine-PEG soln. The tubes with inner diams. of 900 nm and lengths of 5-50 mm are composed of well-aligned nanorods around 300 nm long. It was found that both the solvent ethanolamine and surfactant PEG-20000 play a key role in the formation of nanorod-assembled micro-tubes. Ethanolamine as a mild reducing agent was used to reduce SeO2 to produce Se2-. The optimal conditions to produce CdSe micro-tubes include a vol. 7789-42-6 and 16399-83-0 which are cas registry numbers of substances are two of reagents here. ratio of ethanolamine to water of 1:4 and a quantity of PEG of 3.0 g. The possible formation mechanism of CdSe micro-tubes is also discussed. .

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 73 (Spectra by Absorption, Emission, Reflection, or Magnetic Resonance, and Other Optical Properties) Absorption spectra of CdBr2 and CdBr2-I2 crystals contg. 0.1 and 1% of I2 were measured at 77-300 K in the region 4.4-4.8 eV. Distinct impurity band and sharp absorption edges were obsd.In this experiment, several chemicals are used like 7553-56-2 and 7789-42-6 at 77 K, at higher temp. the spectrum became diffuse, but at 300 K a sharp absorption edge appeared again. Temp. dependences of the position of the impurity band and the absorption edge have different slopes, so that at 256 K the spectra are overlapped. .
