(Dep. Chem., Panjab Univ., Chandigarh, India). J. Chem. Soc., Faraday Trans. 1, 73(6), 833-7 (English) 1977. CODEN: JCFTAR. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 69 (Thermodynamics, Thermochemistry, and Thermal Properties) Section cross-reference(s): 68 Heats of soln. and solvation were measured for the alkali metal perchlorates, 4 ammonium perchlorates, e.g. NH4ClO4 [7790-98-9] and Me4NClO4 [2537-36-2], LiBr, NaBr, NaSCN and KSCN at 1.75-67.7 .times. 10-3 mol/dm3 and 26.9.degree. in (NMe2)2CO [632-22-4]. The slopes of the linear plots of heat of soln. vs. square root of concn. of the electrolytes (except for NaClO4 and KSCN) are 2-9 times higher than the theor. limiting slope, suggesting slight assocn. Comparable exptl. and theor. plots for NaClO4 and KSCN suggest their complete dissocn. Ion solvation enthalpies, calcd. using a modified model of A. D. Buckingham (1957), decrease with ionic size, which is consistent with data for other solvents.

Chem., 13(3), 171-80 (English) 1975. CODEN: ISJCAT. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 78 (Inorganic Chemicals and Reactions) The thermal decompn. of NH4ClO4 doped with Cu+2 and Mn+2 was studied. Small concns. (0.1-0.01%) of these ions inhibit the decompn. by eliminating the 1st exotherm. At higher concns. 7790-98-9 and 16397-91-4 which are cas registry numbers of substances are two of reagents here. a catalyzed decompn. is obsd. Either the influence of doping ions on the mechanism of the thermal decompn. is different from that of added oxides or a modification of the electron transfer mechanism is needed. .
