The decrease in surfactant activity and foam-stabilizing property of I was caused by a salting-out effect by the electrolytes, leading to conformational changes in soln. and to formation of supramol. structures. I contg. 18-20% acetate groups had a higher foam-forming ability than I contg. 2-3% acetate groups. .
