DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) The mutlicomponent silkworm growth regulator Baraka (biocatalyst-82) [80802-70-6] (compn. given in Soviet patent 927213 to A. S. Sultanov et al.) contains >0.2% P. Baraka at 0.5 g was heated with 5 g Na2CO3 at 900° for 1 h, leached with water and filtered. The material retained was heated at 800°, dissolved in 2:1 HCl-H2SO4, and P was pptd. as NH4 phosphomolybdate, dissolved in 0.1N NaOH, and titrated with 0.1 N HNO3 by using phenolphthalein as indicator. The abs. 7798-23-4 and 80802-70-6 which are cas registry numbers of chemicals are mentioned. error in the detn. (% found - % calcd.) was £0.02 for Baraka, whereas for salts used in Baraka manuf., Cd3(PO4)2, Zn3(PO4)2, Mg3(PO4)2, BPO4, Cu3(PO4)2, K3PO4, and FePO4, it was +0.05, -0.04, +0.04, +0.05, +0.03, +0.02, and +0.05, resp. .

Amino acids, DNA, guanidine, and ammonia do not interfere with the detn. The formation of the biuret complex may be investigated with a Q TRAP LC/MS/MS mass spectrometer. .
