Gas chromatographic method for the determination of solanidine in bovine milk from lactating cows fed potato waste. Bushway, R. J.; McCann, D. F.; Bureau, J. L.; Bushway, A. A. (Dep. Food Sci., Univ. Maine, Orono, ME 04469, USA). Spec. Publ. - R. Soc. Chem., (49), 321 (English) 1984. CODEN: SROCDO. ISSN: 0260-6291. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 17 (Food and Feed Chemistry) A gas chromatog. method was developed for the detn. of solanidine (I) [80-78-4] in whole milk and was used to verify if I was present in milk from lactating cows consuming a diet which contained 10-20% potato waste product. No detectable amt. of I was obsd.
Effect of the nature of the organic solvent and the pH of the media on the extraction of solanidine from solutions
Effect of the nature of the organic solvent and the pH of the media on the extraction of solanidine from solutions. Kulikov, V. A.; Tukalo, E. A. (Vitebsk. Med. Inst., Vitebsk, USSR). Fitokhim. Izuch. Flory BSSR Biofarm. Issled. Lek. Prep., 55-7. Edited by: Medvedskii, E. N. Leningr. Med. Inst. im. I. P. Pavlova: Leningrad, USSR. (Russian) 1975. CODEN: 37RZAE. DOCUMENT TYPE: Conference CA Section: 63 (Pharmaceuticals) Effect of the nature of org. solvents C6H6 [71-43-2], CHCl3 [67-66-3], Et2O [60-29-7], dichloroethane [1300-21-6], and isoamyl alc. [123-51-3] and pH (2-12) was evaluated on the extn. of solanidine [80-78-4] from aq. solns. The alkaloid could be extd. by these solvents both from acidic and alk. solns. of all the solvents, CHCl3 extd. most of the alkaloid (~96%) at pH 5-6.
