These differences between compds. and compd. groups disappeared during greenhouse tests on potato and tomato plants and the relative effectiveness of different fungicides varied with P. infestans isolate. Different isolates showed different sensitivity to acylalanine fungicides which suggests that already before exposure to these fungicides some strains had a potential resistance which needed only selection pressure to be expressed.
