The optimum conditions for producing salinomycin 1-pyrenacyl ester are described. Using Kryptofix 222 [23978-09-8] as a catalyst, the reaction fluorescence yield is significantly higher than that using dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6 [16069-36-6]. There is a linear relationship between the fluorescence intensity and the amt. of salinomycin and monensin between 2 and 14 ng and the detection limits are 100 pg.

Therefore, a new amphiphilic fluorescent probe, the pyrenacylester of Rhamnolipid B, was prepd. from biosurfactant (Rhamnolipid B) and pyrene. As a result of its surface activity, this probe was expected to be able to penetrate into various kinds of microdomains such as the environments of org. solvents, emulsions, dispersions, surfaces of biomembranes and polymers. .
