Studies on Scutellariae Radix
Studies on Scutellariae Radix. XII. Anti-thrombic actions of various flavonoids from Scutellariae Radix. Kubo, Michinori; Matsuda, Hideaki; Tani, Tadato; Arichi, Shigeru; Kimura, Yoshiyuki; Okuda, Hiromichi (Fac. Pharm. Sci., Kinki Univ., Higashi-Osaka 577, Japan). Chem. Pharm. Bull., 33(6), 2411-15 (English) 1985. CODEN: CPBTAL. ISSN: 0009-2363. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) The flavonoid components baicalein [491-67-8], baicalin [21967-41-9], wogonin [632-85-9], wogonin-7-O-D-glucuronide [51059-44-0], oroxylin A [480-11-5], skullcapflavone II [55084-08-7], chrysin [480-40-0], (2S)-2',5,6',7-tetrahydroxyflavanone [80604-16-6]-, and (2R,3R)-2',3,5,6',7-pentahydroxyflavanone [80366-15-0], obtained from the roots of S. baicalensis were screened in comparison with 2 std. antithrombic agents, aspirin and heparin, for activity in exptl. models of blood platelet aggregation or conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin. Baicalein, wogonin, oroxylin A, skullcapflavone II, and chrysin at a concn. of 1.0 mM inhibited collagen-induced blood platelet aggregation. Chrysin also inhibited ADP-induced blood platelet aggregation. In the case of arachidonic acid-induced blood platelet aggregation, biacalein and wogonin had an inhibitory action. Baicalein and baicalin among the test substances inhibited the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin induced by thrombin. The effects of baicalein and baicalin on the exptl. disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC) induced by endotoxin in rats were examd.; both compds. prevented the decrease of blood platelets and fibrinogen in DIC rats.
Scutellariae radix
Scutellariae radix. X. Inhibitory effects of various flavonoids on histamine release from rat peritoneal mast cells in vitro. Kubo, Michinori; Matsuda, Hideaki; Kimura, Yoshiyuki; Okuda, Hiromichi; Arichi, Shigeru (Fac. Pharm. Sci., Kinki Univ., Osaka 577, Japan). Chem. Pharm. Bull., 32(12), 5051-4 (English) 1984. CODEN: CPBTAL. ISSN: 0009-2363. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) Section cross-reference(s): 11 The effects of various flavonoids isolated from the roots of S. baicalensis on the histamine [51-45-6] release from mast cells were investigated. Many of the flavonoids wogonin (I) [632-85-9], wogonin-7-O-D-glucuronide [51059-44-0], baicalein [491-67-8], skullcapflavone II [55084-08-7], (2S)-2',5,6',7-tetrahydroxyflavanone [80604-16-6], (2R,3R)-2',3,5,6',7-pentahydroxyflavanone [80366-15-0] and 2',5,5',7-tetrahydroxy-6',8-dimethoxyflavone) [92519-91-0] inhibited the histamine release from rat mast cells induced by compd. 48/80.
