DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 63 (Pharmaceuticals) The compatibility of cephacetrile sodium (I) [23239-41-0] with 71 additives was examd. in 5% glucose soln. contg. vitamin B complexes (thiamine hydrochloride, FAD and pyridoxal phosphate). Each ampul or vial was dissolved in 50 mL of glucose soln., where a higher concn. was 10-fold as high as that of the usual prepn. Kanamycin sulfate [25389-94-0], Vistamycin [25546-65-0], Futraful [17902-23-7], Diamox [59-66-5], Neophyllin [479-18-5], Meylon [144-55-8], Stronger Neo Minophagen C [88863-96-1], Proteamin 12X, 5-FU [51-21-8] and urokinase [9039-53-6] accelerated the degrdn. of cephacetrile. 1405-41-0 and 943-17-9 are also in the experiment. The compatibility of these additives was reexamd. under conditions in which each injection was mixed in 500 mL glucose soln., and all the admixts. except for Neophyllin showed the residual amts. above 90% after 6 h and were compatible. White turbidity was found in the admixts. of FOY [56974-61-9], Novamin and Wintermin which may be due to the formation of the salts of the components with cephacetrile with low soly. .

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) The ototoxicity of kanamycin [8063-07-8] was investigated in mice treated with the drug, either at 6-9, 10-13, or 15-18 days of age. There are some commonly used reagents like 8063-07-8 in this article. The results showed extensive damage to the outer hair-cell (OHC) receptors of the cochlea in the 10-13-day group; some less severe damage to the OHC was found in the 6-9-day group, and little damage was obsd. in the 15-18-day group. The present finding is consistent with the view that the mouse cochlea is most vulnerable to the ototoxic effect of kanamycin during the period of its rapid development, i.e., between 10 and 13 days of age. .
