Also, preplant incorporated FMC-57020 [81777-89-1] at 1.7 kg ai/ha controlled the red rice >80%. DPX-Y6202 [76578-14-8] was the best and most consistent postemergence herbicide treatment for red rice control when applied once at 0.28 kg ai/ha or sequentially at 0.14 kg ai/ha each time. Haloxyfop [69806-34-4] applied at 0.16 kg ai/ha followed by another application at 0.14 kg ai/ha gave excellent red rice control in 2 of 3 yr. Soybeans were uninjured by the herbicide treatments and yield was higher from treated than untreated soybeans.

DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) The 2 bleaching herbicides dimethazone [81777-89-1] and fluorochloridone [89286-81-7] were investigated for suitability for weed control in white potatoes. Dimethazone at >0.56 kg/ha and fluorochloridone at 0.56 and 0.84 kg/ha provided good residual weed control of Echinochloa crus-galli, Chenopodium album, and Ambrosia artemisiifolia. When compared to alachlor, linuron, and metribuzin, the 2 bleaching herbicides at the above rates provided better residual broad-spectrum weed control than these herbicides applied alone, and performed as well as some combinations of these compds., such as alachlor + linuron or alachlor + metribuzin. Both dimethazone and fluorochloridone produced yields as high as or higher than the std. herbicide check of alachlor + linuron, and dimethazone at 0.84 and 1.12 kg/ha produced significantly higher yields than the herbicide check. Dimethazone-linuron mixt. [95628-17-4] and dimethazone-metribuzin mixt. [95628-18-5] also provided yield values significantly higher than the herbicide check. Bleaching of a rye cover crop planted after potato harvest occurred in some dimethazone-treated plots but after 8 wk this effect was no longer obsd.
