Inhibitory effect of some plant growth regulators, phenolics and fungicides on the production of pectin methylgalacturonase by Alternaria solani and A
Inhibitory effect of some plant growth regulators, phenolics and fungicides on the production of pectin methylgalacturonase by Alternaria solani and A. tenuis. Mehta, P. (Dep. Bot., Univ. Saugor, Saugor, India). Folia Microbiol. (Prague), 29(1), 43-50 (English) 1984. CODEN: FOMIAZ. ISSN: 0015-5632. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Section cross-reference(s): 11 Secretion of pectin methylgalacturonase (PMG) [37213-52-8] by A. solani was suppressed in the following sequence of active agents (100 ppm): kinetin [525-79-1] > indolebutyric acid [133-32-4] > vanillin [121-33-5] > gibberellic acid [77-06-5] > ferulic acid [1135-24-6] > 3-hydroxybenzaldehyde [100-83-4] > phloroglucinol [108-73-6] > indolepropionic acid [830-96-6] > IAA [87-51-4]. In A. tenuis, the sequence was: kinetin = gibberellic acid = IAA = indolebutyric acid > phloroglucinol > indolepropionic acid > ferulic acid. Of 10 fungicides tested, most potent in both species were thiram [137-26-8], brassicol [82-68-8], blimix [56448-75-0] and sultaf [7704-34-9] (at 1000 ppm). Mycelial growth was relatively less affected by the active agents and fungicides in A. tenuis than in A. solani. There was no correlation between the inhibitory effect of the various agents on PMG secretion and on mycelial growth.Except for chemicals metioned above, 133-32-4 and 830-96-6 are also used. .
Toxicological effects of pentachloronitrobenzene, its degradation products and thiabendazole on soil bioactivity
Toxicological effects of pentachloronitrobenzene, its degradation products and thiabendazole on soil bioactivity. Kesavan, R. (CPG Agron., Univ. Fed. Santa Maria, Santa Maria 97.100, Brazil). Fitopatol. Bras., 8(1), 13-19 (English) 1983. CODEN: FIBRD2. ISSN: 0100-4158. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Section cross-reference(s): 19 Pentachloronitrobenzene (I) [82-68-8] had inhibitory effect on soil bacteria and actinomycetes at 100 ppm; this inhibitory effect was reduced within 4 wk. I degrdn. products, pentachloroaniline (II) [527-20-8] and pentachloroanisole (I) [1825-21-4], had similar inhibitory effects at 1 wk and stimulatory effects on further incubation. Thiabendazole (IV) [148-79-8], had stimulatory effect on bacteria and actinomycetes at the initial period, with an inhibitory effect later. Soil biol. activity was measured by 14CO2 evolution, by the radiorespirometer. I stimulated CO2 prodn. in soil under both amended and unamended soil metab. IV inhibited CO2 prodn. even in the presence of amendments. IV was more toxic to soil fungi than I, II and III (tested on agar medium). 527-20-8 and 1825-21-4 which are cas registry numbers of substances are two of reagents here. In liq. medium, different results were obtained, e.g., some fungi (Gliocladium virens, Trichoderma koningii and Rhizoctonia solani) exhibited stimulation in the presence of II and III. .
