Hydrogenation of III gave II (R = COCH2CMe:NH), which condensed with PhNHNH2 to give II (R = 3-methyl-1-phenyl-5-pyrazolyl). 873-67-6 and 827-43-0 are just another two chemicals used in this study. Treatment of II (R = COCH2CMe:NH) with KOH gave II (R = Ac), which was oxidized to II (R = CO2H) and decarboxylated. .
