Tetryzoline (CAS NO.84-22-0) is used as nasal decongestant; Visine is a form of eye drops. It is an alpha agonist and its main mechanism of action is the constriction of conjunctival blood vessels. This serves to relieve the redness of the eye caused by minor ocular irritants.

Tetryzoline is found in over-the-counter eye drops and nasal sprays which is a derivative of imidazoline.
Excessive use it can lead to poisoning. It can cause severe nausea and vomiting to seizures or a coma and violent diarrhea.
