CODEN: JHZIAR. ISSN: 1009-9212. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 25 (Benzene, Its Derivatives, and Condensed Benzenoid Compounds) [2,6-Dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]hydrazine was prepd. by hydrazinolysis of 3,4,5-trichlorobenzotrifluoride with hydrazine hydrate, reduced by hydrogen with Raney Ni as catalyst to give 2,6-dichloro-4-trifluoromethylaniline. Under the optimum condition the total yield of 2, 6-dichloro-4-trifluoromethylphenylhydrazine was up to 81%. The effects of temp., material mixt. ratio and reaction time on the hydrazinolysis were also discussed. The structure of the compd. was confirmed by spectral characterizations. .
