DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 10 (Microbial Biochemistry) A new antibiotic complex, called myxalamides, was isolated from the cells of M. xanthus Mx x12 (GBF). After preliminary purifn. using florisil the myxalamides were sepd. by reversed-phase chromatog. to give 4 components. The spectroscopic investigation of the main component, myxalamide B, revealed the structure of an alaninol amide with a highly unsatd., branched fatty acid. The myxalamides A, C, D, are amides of homologous fatty acids and alaninol. .
