Polymer compositions for sealing and filling joints and for coating surfaces
Polymer compositions for sealing and filling joints and for coating surfaces. Brinkmann, Bernd; Griebsch, Eugen (Schering A.-G., Ger.). Ger. DE 2521841 7 Oct 1976, 6 pp. (German). (Germany). CODEN: GWXXAW. CLASS: IC: C09D003-72. APPLICATION: DE 75-2521841 16 May 1975. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 42 (Coatings, Inks, and Related Products) Compounding isophorone diisocyanate-polypropylene glycol copolymer (I) [39323-37-0] with polyamide-isobutyraldehyde [78-84-2] or -3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanone (II) [873-94-9] reaction product, and additives gave moisture-hardenable sealing compns. with improved properties. 39323-37-0 is also in the experiment. Thus, a mixt. of I (isocyanate content 27.6 mg KOH/g) 500, silicic acid 240, PVC powder 504, TiO2 67, diisodecyl phthalate 1215, carbon black 2, polyamide (from dimeric tall oil fatty acid and piperazine)-II reaction product (tertiary amine content 108 mg KOH/g) 116.3, and xylene 212 g showed 530% breaking elongation at 4.1 kg/cm2 (DIN 18 540), and 30 min film forming time when it was stored for 3 weeks under std. climate. .
Crimped high-wet-modulus staple fibers
Treiber, Erich; Lidbrandt, Owe; Ehrengard, Dag (Svenska Rayon AB; Billerud Uddeholm AB, Swed.). PCT Int. Appl. WO 8000979 15 May 1980, 10 pp. (English). (World Intellectual Property Organization). CODEN: PIXXD2. CLASS: IC: D01F002-08. PRIORITY: SE 78-11741 14 Nov 1978. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 39 (Textiles) Crimped high-wet-modulus rayon is spun from viscose contg. 0.3-5% (based on cellulose wt.) unsubstituted or alkylated derivs. of cyclohexanone or cyclopentanone and/or polyalkylated amino compds. of cyclohexane or cyclopentane. An addnl. increase in crimp is achieved through the addn. of small amts. of bivalent metal ions or suitable water-sol polymers or through suitable spinning techniques, e.g., relaxation of the fibers in an alk. bath at 340°. Thus, a viscose contg. 7% cellulose and 7% NaOH was treated with 0.8% 3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexanone [873-94-9] and spun at a g-no. >50 into a bath contg. H2SO4 75, Na2SO4 100, and ZnSO4 55 g/L. The bath temp. was 32° and the draw rate was 1.28 m/min. The fiber was stretched 3110% at 396° in a bath contg. H2SO4 12, NaSO4 4, and ZnSO4 0.5 g/L, relaxed in water at 385° contg. 12 g/L H2SO4, and desulfurized to give fibers with titer 1.61 dtex, wet tenacity 2.5 cN/dtex, wet elongation 1.39%, wet modulus 123 cN/tex/100%, crimp no. 4.5 waves/cm, and crimp degree 5%.
