Sesquiterpene lactones from Carpesium abrotanoides. Maruyama, Masao; Karube, Akio; Sato, Kiyoko (Dep. Chem., Miyagi Univ. Educ., Sendai 980, Japan). Phytochemistry, 22(12), 2773-4 (English) 1983. CODEN: PYTCAS. ISSN: 0031-9422. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 11 (Plant Biochemistry) Section cross-reference(s): 30 Carabrol (I), ivaxillin (II; R = H, R1 = Me), and 11(13)-dehydroivaxillin (II; RR1 = CH2) (III) were isolated from C. abrotanoides and the structures of the novel compds. I and III were detd. by std. methods. 87441-73-4 and 11014-50-9 are just another two chemicals used in this study. Catalytic hydrogenation of III gave II (R = Me, R1 = H), identical with eriolin, and so confirming the structure of this compd. .
