DOCUMENT TYPE: Conference CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) The combination of amoxicillin [26787-78-0] and YTR 830 [89785-84-2], and new b-lactamase inhibitor, was compared to amoxicillin clavulanate [58001-44-8] combination in protecting mice with exptl. infections caused by amoxicillin-resistant, b-lactamase-producing isolates of C. freundii and P. mirabilis. At fixed dosages of amoxicillin, YTR 830 was synergistic in vivo against both organism. Clavulanate was superior to YTR 830 against C. freundii due to the intrinsic activity of clavulanate against this organism. YTR 830 was superior against P. mirabilis. .
