- Age-related changes in the amylase isoenzyme activity in tissues from ducks
- Age-related changes in the amylase isoenzyme activity in tissues from ducks. Chernova, G. V. (Tyumen Univ., Tyumen, USSR). Ukr. Biokhim. Zh., 56(1), 28-34 (Russian) 1984. CODEN: UBZHD4. ISSN: 0201-8470. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 12 (Nonmammalian Biochemistry) The activities of amylase isoenzymes were detd. in various organs and tissues of ducks at age 1-300 days. Amylase activity in the organs and tissues were related to their growth rates and to the body wt. of the ducks. 9000-92-4 is also in the experiment. Max. enzyme activity was generally obsd. at 10-30 days of age, the time of the highest growth rate. Equations were developed to det. the amylolytic activity necessary to support physiol. regeneration and growth rate. The role of amylase in the regulation of growth in ducks was discussed. .

- Comparison of the evolution and control of amylase and protease activities during larval development and the early juvenile stages of Palaemon serratus, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, and Penaeus japonicus (Crustacea: Decapoda). Van Wormhoudt, A. (Lab. Biol. Mar., Concarneau 29110, Fr.).Chemicals with cas numbers 9001-92-7 and 9000-92-4 also play role. Publ. Cent. Natl. Exploit. Oceans, [Ser.]: Actes Colloq. (Fr.), 14(Indices Biochim. Milieux Mar.), 231-48 (French) 1982. CODEN: PCNCDH. ISSN: 0335-8259. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 12 (Nonmammalian Biochemistry) Amylase and protease activities increased during the larval development of 3 crustaceans (P. serratus, M. rosenbergii, and P. japonicus). The increase was greater for amylase than for protease and changes appeared mainly at the end of the naupluis and mysis stages in Penaeus and during the mysis stages in Palaemon and Macrobrachium. Modification of the nutritional regimen altered the enzymic activities in P. serratus. Ablation of the ocular peduncle of Palaemon larvae inhibited amylase activity with protease being less affected. Addnl., ecdysterone levels were elevated in the ocular peduncle in the early larval stages. A hyperglycemic hormone was also identified in the larval ocular peduncle. Evidently, the digestive enzymes are under hormonal and nutritional control during larval development. .
