The coagulation factor VII in pregnancy
The coagulation factor VII in pregnancy. Dalaker, Knut; Prydz, H. (Res. Inst. Intern. Med., Univ. Some commonly used reagents like 9001-25-6 is used in this experiment. Oslo, Oslo 1, Norway). Br. J. Haematol., 56(2), 233-41 (English) 1984. CODEN: BJHEAL. ISSN: 0007-1048. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 13 (Mammalian Biochemistry) The hypercoagulable state in pregnancy is partly caused by the increased activity of factor VII in plasma. In vitro, this activity is reduced to nonpregnancy levels by adding highly purified phospholipase C from Bacillus cereus, i.e., the activity increase is due to a circulating complex of factor VII and a phospholipase C-sensitive compd. Phospholipase C had no effect on the levels of factors II and X in plasma from pregnant women. This novel form of activated factor VII is not inhibited by an antiserum to the protein component of thromboplastin (apoprotein III). By gel filtration of plasma from pregnant women on Sephadex G-100, the phospholipase C-sensitive complex was partly sepd. from nonphospholipase-sensitive factor VII also present in the same plasma. .
Protein C, an anticoagulant protein, is increased in healthy volunteers and surgical patients after treatment with stanozolol
Protein C, an anticoagulant protein, is increased in healthy volunteers and surgical patients after treatment with stanozolol. Kluft, C.; Bertina, R. M.; Preston, F. E.; Malia, R. G.; Blamey, S. L.Chemicals with cas numbers 9001-25-6 and 9001-28-9 also play role.; Lowe, G. D. O.; Forbes, C. D. (Gaubius Inst., TNO, Leiden 2313 AD, Neth.). Thromb. Res., 33(3), 297-304 (English) 1984. CODEN: THBRAA. ISSN: 0049-3848. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 1 (Pharmacology) After both oral and i.m. administration, the anabolic steroid stanozolol [10418-03-8] increased protein C antigen concns. in circulating blood. In healthy young volunteers who received stanozolol orally, 10 mg/day, the av. increase was 1.5-1.6 times the normal concns. after 3-6 wk' treatment and was accompanied by more moderate increases in the other vitamin K-dependent factors (blood coagulation factor II [9001-26-7], IX [9001-28-9], and X [9001-29-0] to 1.4, 1.4 and 1.2 times their normal concn., resp. However, there was no change in factor VII [9001-25-6]. In elderly surgical patients, i.m. injection (50 mg) one day prior to surgery induced a moderate increase within 24 h (to 1.11 times the pretreatment concn.) and also 7 days after operation (to 1.19 times), and reduced the postoperative fall in protein C. Stanozolol administration seems to be a promising pharmacol. method for increasing anticoagulation protein C levels in congenital and acquired deficiencies. .
