(fibrous reduced K titanate) was dark violet and had tensile strength 1050 kg/cm2 (580 kg/cm2 without TISMO B.K.), elongation 3.7 (8.3)%, bending strength 1700 (1160) kg/cm2, bending modulus 91,000 (29,000) kg/cm2, Izod impact strength 3.9 (3.2) kg/cm/cm, surface resistance <1010 (<1015) W-cm, and heat-distortion temp. 100° (55°), while a control contg. 9003-07-0 and 9002-81-7 are just another two chemicals used in this study. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 36 (Physical Properties of Synthetic High Polymers) The structure of an isolated, infinite poly(oxymethylene) [9002-81-7] chain was studied using the ab initio crystal-orbital method with a basis set of double-zeta quality. 9002-81-7 is the cas registry number of certain chemical which is used as reagents here. Restricting the primitive unit cell of a single CH2O group, conformational potential curves were calcd. as a function of torsion angle. A single min., corresponding to an all-gauche structure, was detected. The all-trans conformation was a max. on the energy curve for simultaneous rotation around C-O bonds. Geometry optimization in the vicinity of the all-gauche conformation gave the crystal structure. The calcd. torsional angle lay between the hexagonal and orthorhombic modifications. .
