Fiz., Chernogolovka, USSR). Khim. Vys. Energ., 18(1), 32-5 (Russian) 1984. CODEN: KHVKAO. ISSN: 0023-1193. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Chemistry of Synthetic High Polymers) A calorimetric study of the kinetics of the liq.-phase, radiochem. grafting of vinyl fluoride (I) [75-02-5] on powd. poly(tetrafluoroethylene) [9002-84-0] waste at 195-293 K and dose rate 0.14-1.8 Gy/s showed differences in the temp. 9002-84-0 and 75-02-5 which are cas registry numbers of chemicals are mentioned. dependences of the homopolymn. of I and the graft polymn. of I. This difference can be used to suppress the homopolymn. For example, decreasing the temp. to 195 K during irradn. at 0.97 Gy/s for 3 h led predominately to the formation of the graft copolymer, which is of interest as a filler. .

- Low-temperature postradiation grafting of vinyl fluoride onto secondary poly(tetrafluoroethylene) and poly(vinyl chloride). Some chemicals with cas registry numbers like 24937-99-3 and 9002-84-0 are also used. Zufarov, A. A.; Kiryukhin, D. P.; Asamov, M. K.; Barkalov, I. M. (Tashk. Gos. Univ., Tashkent, USSR). Uzb. Khim. Zh., (6), 43-6 (Russian) 1983. CODEN: UZKZAC. ISSN: 0042-1707. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Chemistry of Synthetic High Polymers) Section cross-reference(s): 36, 37 Exposure of PTFE [9002-84-0] wastes or PVC [9002-86-2] to vinyl fluoride (I) [75-02-5] at 273 K, cooling the system to 77 K, irradn. at this temp. with g rays, and raising the temp. to room temp. level resulted in grafting of I on the polymers. The amt. of the grafted poly(vinyl fluoride) depended on the monomer-polymer ratio, duration of the exposure to I at 273 K, and irradn. dose, reaching the level of 6-7% (based on wt. of starting polymer). The supporting expts. established that low-temp. sorption of I on PTFE wastes and PVC also depended on the duration of the exposure of the polymers to I at 273 K reaching ~14% for PTFE wastes (exposure 40 h) and ~24% for PVC (exposure 50 h). .
