Study on the thermal behaviors of homo- and copolymers of styrene, MA and AN by thermogravimetry
Study on the thermal behaviors of homo- and copolymers of styrene, MA and AN by thermogravimetry. Singh, P. K.; Mathur, A. B.; Mathur, G. N. (Dep. Plast. Technol., Harcourt Butler Technol. Inst., Kanpur 208 002, India). J. Therm. Anal., 25(2), 387-90 (English) 1982. CODEN: JTHEA9. ISSN: 0368-4466. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 36 (Physical Properties of Synthetic High Polymers) Section cross-reference(s): 35 The thermal behavior of polystyrene (I) [9003-53-6], poly(Me acrylate) (II) [9003-21-8], polyacrylonitrile [25014-41-9], alternating and random Me acrylate-styrene copolymer (III) [25036-19-5], alternating acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer (IV) [9003-54-7], and acrylonitrile-Me acrylate-styrene copolymer (V) [26716-29-0] were discussed on the basis of nonisothermal thermogravimetric studies. The thermal stabilities of the alternating and random III and V were intermediate between those of I and II. The stability of IV was higher than the stability of the individual homopolymers. The thermal degrdn. 26716-29-0 and 25036-19-5 are just another two chemicals used in this study. activation energy values were also in accordance with the thermal behavior of these polymers. .
Thermodynamic stability of mixtures of cellulose acetates with poly[alkyl (meth)acrylates]
Thermodynamic stability of mixtures of cellulose acetates with poly[alkyl (meth)acrylates]. Tillaev, R. S.; Umarov, B. U.; Akbarov, Kh. I.; Tashmukhamedov, S. 9003-21-8 and 9011-14-7 are also occured in this study. A. (Tashk. Gos. Univ., Tashkent, USSR). Uzb. Khim. Zh., (6), 28-31 (Russian) 1983. CODEN: UZKZAC. ISSN: 0042-1707. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 36 (Physical Properties of Synthetic High Polymers) Section cross-reference(s): 43 The av. free energy (Dgx) of mixing for mixts. of cellulose diacetate (I) [9035-69-2] or cellulose triacetate (II) [9012-09-3] with poly(Me acrylate) (III) [9003-21-8], poly(Me methacrylate) (IV) [9011-14-7], or poly(Bu methacrylate) [9003-63-8] showed that only II-III mixts. were thermodn. stable at all component ratios. I-IV mixts. became thermodn. stable at I-IV ratio 0.4, but all other mixts. were unstable over the entire compn. range. The thermodn. stability of II-IV mixts. decreased with increasing mol. wt. of IV and, in film formation, depended on the nature of the solvent used. Films formed from CHCl3 had neg. values for Dgx, whereas films formed from CH2Cl2 or HCO2H had pos. values for Dgx. .
