The perfused micellar solns. of VE were formed by Na taurocholate (STC) [145-42-6], Na taurodeoxycholate (STDC) [1180-95-6], or polysorbate 80 (PS-80) [9005-65-6]. The absorption ratio of VE was STC>STDC>PS-80 micellar solns. The addn. of egg lecithin (PC) to all micellar solns. caused a decrease of the absorption. The absorption ratio did not necessarily have a simple correlation with the VE solubilization in these micellar solns. The absorption ratio also correlated with the micellar size and with net water flux in the intestinal lumen. .
