The tested substances were polysorbate 85 [9005-70-3], polysorbate80 [9005-65-6], polysorbate 60 [9005-67-8], polysorbate 40 [9005-66-7], polysorbates 21 and 20, and polyoxyethylene sorbitan 20 [9005-64-5]. When the surfactants were added in aq. solns., they did not affect the permeability. On the other hand, these surfactants affected the histol. 121-57-3 and 9005-66-7 are just another two chemicals used in this study. nature of the rectal tissue and enhanced the permeability when they were added in oil. .
