DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Synthetic High Polymers) The steady state recoverable compliance (Je) of a poly(dimethyl siloxane) [9016-00-6] (.hivin.Mw = 4.1 .times. 105) detd. at -45 to +152.degree. was inversely proportional to the abs. temp. for reduced temps. Tr = 2-3 but at Tr <2 Je was independent of temp. (Tr = T/Tg). A reduced plot of the normalized reciprocal Je using addnl. data on polystyrene [9003-53-6] and polyisobutylene [9003-27-4] confirmed the temp. insensitivity of Je for 1.2 < Tr < 2.0. At Tr<2 the normalized reciprocal Je increased rapidly reflecting a sharp decrease of Je with decreasing temp.
