This method exploited the large (>20°) difference in the thermal stability of RNA-DNA and DNA-DNA duplexes in concd. chaotropic salt solns. The enzyme prepn. using dextran with a mol. wt. of 40,000 daltons produced the greatest neoplasm inhibition.
