ISSN: 0144-1612. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) The 48-h LD50 values of the title pyrethroid Karate (I) [91465-08-6] were 0.051 (contact) and 0.97 (oral) mg/honeybee. When Karate at 10 g/ha was applied at mid-day to flowering winter rape, it was found to have no lethal or sublethal effect on foraging honeybees.

- Synergism of biological and chemical insecticides in the control of caterpillars of gypsy moth Lymantria dispar (L.). Novotny, Julius; Svestka, Milan (Vysk. Stanica, VULH, Banska Stiavnica, Czech.). Lesnictvi, 32(12), 1115-28 (Slovak) 1986. CODEN: LSNCAE. ISSN: 0024-1105. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 5 (Agrochemical Bioregulators) Aerial application of the microbial prepn.Chemicals with cas numbers 108251-15-6 and 108251-16-7 also play role. Bathurin 82 S (Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki) to L. dispar in oak stands confirmed that there was a strong neg. influence of rain on the efficiency of microbial prepns. Simultaneous trials testing the synergism of the microbial prepn. and a sublethal dose of chem. insecticides demonstrated that this combination was esp. suitable for rainy periods. Half the rate of the microbial prepn. Bathurin 82 S (16/ha) combined with a sublethal rate of Dimilin [35367-38-5] (50 g/ha) was 94.65% effective. The efficiency of the same dose of the microbial prepn. and a sublethal dose of Nomolt [83121-18-0], (50 mL/ha) was 97.64%. The combination of the microbial prepn. and the synthetic pyrethroid Karate [91465-08-6], (10 mL/ha) gave the highest efficiency (99.03%). In comparison with the microbial prepns. applied alone, the efficiency of the tested combinations was higher by 16-21%. The combinations with Dimilin and Nomolt were selective. The combination of the microbial prepn. and Karate caused 36.66% mortality of nontarget insect species. Hymenoptera and Diptera were killed. Coleoptera and Arachnoidea survived. The tested combinations protected oaks from defoliation. For integrated forest protection, it is best to make use of the synergism of the microbial prepns. and a sublethal dose of insecticides inhibiting chitin synthesis (Nomolt, Dimilin) in unfavorable weather conditions. .
