With the CAS registry number 92457-18-6, Michelia Oil is also named as Michelia alba, ext.. It is pale yellow clear liquid with fresh and sweet fragrance. And it is slightly soluble in water and soluble in water that appears settled solution. Because Michelia Oil has a small amount of indole, it will become dark red if it is long -placing. The main components of this chemical are linalool, linalyl acetate, dihydro linalool, phenylethyl alcohol, cineole, linalool oxide, terpineol, caryophyllene, etc. Additionally, it should be stored in a closed container in a cool, dry & ventilation place.
Preparation: Boiling and distillation the Michelia alba flowers with water, and then we can get the product from oil-water separation. The yield is 0.2%～0.25%.
Uses of Michelia Oil: It is allowed to use as flavorant by GB 2760—2007. And it is good floral fragrance which can be applied with a variety of formula of high-grade daily-using flavors.
