DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 18 (Animal Nutrition) High-fat (60 vs. 30% of calories) and high-carbohydrate (65 vs. 50%) diets had little effect on peptide hydrolases in the small intestinal mucosa of young Wistar rats, but feeding of a high-protein (60 vs. 20%) diet for 7 days increased hydrolysis of diglycylglycine [556-33-2], L-leucylglycine [686-50-0], and DL-a-alanylglycylglycine [927-21-9] in the anterior portion of the intestine. All hydrolase activities were highest toward the central portions of the small intestine. .
