APPLICATION: PL 79-217203 17 Jul 1979. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 41 (Dyes, Organic Pigments, Fluorescent Brighteners, and Photographic Sensitizers) The title dye (I) [93376-15-9] is prepd. by coupling diazotized 5-amino-2-anilinobenzenesulfonic acid (II) [91-30-5], diazotized 1-amino-8-hydroxy-3,6-naphthalenedisulfonic acid (III) [90-20-0], and diazotized 4-nitroaniline (IV) [100-01-6] with resorcinol [108-46-3] at pH 8-11. Thus, 264 parts II was diazotized and coupled with 110 parts resorcinol dissolved in 1000 vols. water and 105 parts 45% aq. NaOH. The resulting monoazo dye was treated with 44.5 parts 45% aq. NaOH and coupled with a compd. prepd. by diazotization of 319 parts III. The disazo dye was treated with 80 parts 45% aq. NaOH and coupled with diazotized 138 parts IV giving 1000 parts I which dyed leather in brown shades.
