3-Methoxycatechol (CAS NO.934-00-9) is used in organic synthesis.
Raw materials :Hydrogen peroxide-->3-Methoxysalicylaldehyde
2 - Hydroxy -3 - methoxybenzaldehyde soluble in sodium hydroxide solution,Adding Hydrogen peroxide dropwise with stirring, the temperature maintained between 45-50°C. And then saturated with sodium chloride at room temperature, with ether extraction, extraction steamed and dried to remove ether by vacuum distillation, collecting distillate at 136-138°C(2.93kPa) , 3 - Methoxy-catechol is obtained. Yield of 68-80%.
