Dynamics of skin functions in guinea pigs with dermatitis caused by various chemical substances (clinical-pathophysiological parallels)
Dynamics of skin functions in guinea pigs with dermatitis caused by various chemical substances (clinical-pathophysiological parallels). Mar'yasis, E. D.; Prishchepov, V. F.; Anton'ev, A. A.; Pavlik, L. V. (USSR). Tr. Permsk. Gos. Med. Inst., 133, 100-3 (Russian) 1975. CODEN: TPGMA8. ISSN: 0301-1801. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) Dinitrochlorobenzene (I) [97-00-7], p-tert-butylphenol [98-54-4], or nitroammofos [53124-23-5] applied to the skin of guinea pigs daily caused dermatitis in visibly undamaged areas around the point of application as well as at the application site itself. Dermatitis was most intense at 14 days after application and regressed at 21-28 days. Indicators of skin function (heat transfer, electrocond. of the surface layer, local heat regulation reaction) changed in parallel with the development of dermatitis, although these indicators remained abnormal during the regression period. Dermatitis from nitroammofos was less severe than that from I or butylphenol.
Cellular evaluation of hypersensitivity to 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene
Cellular evaluation of hypersensitivity to 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene. Jansa, P. (Inst. Pathol. Anat., Palacky Univ. Sch. Med., Olomouc, Czech.). Neoplasma, 24(5), 529-32 (English) 1977. CODEN: NEOLA4. DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 4 (Toxicology) A suitable modification of a skin hypersensitivity method made it possible to evaluate hypersensitivity reaction to 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (I) [97-00-7] at a cellular level. Probands were sensitized by epicutaneous application of 0.2 mL of 1% soln. of the tested substance, and after 14 days 1 drop of the soln. was applied in the same manner on a freshly scraped area of the skin. An imprint prepn. was taken 48 h later and examd. microscopically. The presence of lymphoid elements, eosinophils, and basophils indicated a normally developed hypersensitivity reaction. Presence at the same time of rather large amts. of large monocytogenic macrophages and neutrophilic granulocytes was an expression of an unspecific inflammatory reaction taking a normal course. Suitability of the described procedure for routine application is discussed.
