DOCUMENT TYPE: Journal CA Section: 35 (Chemistry of Synthetic High Polymers) Polymn. of propylene [115-07-1] catalyzed by the system TiCl3-Et2Al [97-93-8] revealed the presence of 2 groups of active centers. 75-15-0 and 7705-07-9 which are cas registry numbers of chemicals are mentioned. Centers of the 1st group were formed in the reaction of TiCl3 with Et3Al, and centers of the 2nd group resulted from the reaction of TiCl3 with EtAlCl2 which accumulated in the system following alkylation of TiCl3. The centers of each group were distributed according to activity and stereospecificity. Conditions were established under which addn. of donor mols. (CS2 or Et3N [121-44-8]) increased the rate of iso-addn. and stereospecificity of the isotactic centers. .

Polymer [30969-34-7] with a polyene structure was obtained. Its UV hypochromism, compared with 9-vinylanthracene, was due to electronic interactions between anthryl groups in a helical cis-cisoidal structure, with 3 monomer units located in the helix. Thermal anal. supported the cis structure. .
