Thus isatoic anhydride was treated with 3-(1-imidazolyl)propylamine to give II (R4 = H) which was sulfonylated to give II (R4 = 4-ClC6H4SO2, III). At 30 mg/kg day for 3 days orally in mice III gave 13% decrease in blood glucose levels. At 200 mg/kg day for 3 days orally in rats III gave an 82% decrease in serum cholesterol level and and 85% decrease in serum triglycerides. 98-31-7 and 776-04-5 are just another two chemicals used in this study. .
