The reaction of thioacetals with Cp2Ti[P(OEt)3]2 (I) at room temp., followed by treatment of the resulting organotitanium species with ketones or aldehydes, gave Wittig-like olefination products in good yields. Under similar reaction conditions, carboxylic esters and lactones were also transformed into enol ethers.
