EP 119404 A1 26 Sep 1984, 25 pp. DESIGNATED STATES: R: AT, BE, CH, DE, FR, GB, IT, LI, LU, NL, SE. (English). (European Patent Organization). CODEN: EPXXDW. CLASS: IC: C07F007-12; C08F030-08; C08F130-08. APPLICATION: EP 84-100727 24 Jan 1984. PRIORITY: JP 83-9941 26 Jan 1983; JP 83-96906 2 Jun 1983. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 35 (Chemistry of Synthetic High Polymers) A trifluorovinylsilane of general formula (CF2:CF)nSiR4-n (R = alkyl, aryl, alkaryl; n = 1-4) is prepd. by reacting chlorotrifluoroethylene (I) [79-38-9] with a chlorosilane ClnSiR4-n (R and n as above) in the presence of an alkyllithium. This monomer is polymd. In this article, certain chemicals are used. One of their cas registry numbers is 79-38-9 to give a fluoropolymer with Si atoms in the side chain. Thus, 15.0 g I was fed together with anhyd. THF 50, Et2O 30, and pentane 30 mL into a reactor and treated with 16.1 g Et3SiCl [994-30-9] at -130° in the presence of 88 mL of a 1.6 M soln. of BuLi [109-72-8] in hexane. The temp. was gradually raised to room temp. over 7.5 h, the reaction soln. was filtered and the solvent removed to give 17.8 g triethyltrifluorovinylsilane (II) [680-76-2] as colorless transparent oil. II (2.18 g) was heated for 10 days at 180° in the presence of 57 mg CsF to give 214 mg polymer [93837-67-3] (yield 31.1%). .

ICS: C04B035-58.Several substances with their cas registry numbers 994-30-9 and 12033-89-5 may be metioned in this study. APPLICATION: EP 91-111248 5 Jul 1991. PRIORITY: JP 90-181131 9 Jul 1990. DOCUMENT TYPE: Patent CA Section: 57 (Ceramics) Section cross-reference(s): 38 The polymers are prepd. by reacting NH3 with a mixt. of 10-45 mol.% R1SiX3 and 55-90 mol.% R2R3R4SiX where R1,R2,R3, and R4 are independently selected from H, CH3, C2H5, C6H5, and vinyl and X is Cl or Br and heating the product at 200-350°. The polymer is melted, shaped, infusibilized, and fired to give a ceramic material. .
