General Description

BNP-26 (Porcine) is a peptide hormone found in the hearts of pigs that plays a significant role in regulating blood pressure and fluid balance. It is a member of the natriuretic peptide family and is synthesized and released by the ventricular myocardium in response to increased pressure and volume overload. BNP-26 functions by promoting vasodilation and natriuresis, or the excretion of sodium through the urine, which helps to decrease blood volume and lower blood pressure. Due to its physiological effects, BNP-26 is used as a diagnostic and prognostic marker in heart failure and other cardiovascular diseases, and can also be utilized as a therapeutic agent for managing related conditions.
