199296-61-2 Usage
General Description
2-Fluoro-5-(trifluoromethyl)benzylamine is a chemical compound, more specifically an organic compound, that is composed of fluorine and amine functional groups. The presence of tri-fluorinated methyl group provides the compound with unique properties, including higher stability, owing to the three fluorine atoms' high electron negativity. 2-FLUORO-5-(TRIFLUOROMETHYL)BENZYLAMINE is primarily used in chemical industries for various synthesis processes. It plays an integral role in the production of other complex organic compounds due to its chemical reactivity. As an intermediate, it contributes significantly to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. However, there is limited available information about its safety or potential hazards, and handling should be done by trained professionals.
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 199296-61-2 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 1,9,9,2,9 and 6 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 6 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 199296-61:
(8*1)+(7*9)+(6*9)+(5*2)+(4*9)+(3*6)+(2*6)+(1*1)=202
202 % 10 = 2
So 199296-61-2 is a valid CAS Registry Number.

Process for producing trifluoromethylbenzylamines
-
, (2008/06/13)
The present invention relates to a process for producing a trifluoromethylbenzylamine represented by the general formula (1). This process includes the step of reducing an oxime represented by the general formula (2), where R1represents hydrogen atom, a halogen atom selected from the group consisting of fluorine, chlorine, bromine and iodine, or trifluoromethyl group, where R1is defined as above, and R2represents hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aralkyl group. With this process, the trifluoromethylbenzylamine can be produced with high selectivity.
