Usage

General Description

1-(2-isopropylthiazol-4-yl-N-MethylMethanaMine, also known as MPTP, is a chemical compound that was first synthesized as a potential analgesic, but was later discovered to have devastating effects on the brain. MPTP is a neurotoxin that can cause severe and irreversible damage to the dopaminergic system, leading to symptoms similar to Parkinson's disease. The compound is metabolized in the brain to form MPP+, which is highly toxic to dopaminergic neurons.
