PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an industrially desirable, economical and environmental friendly manufacturing method of sodium 2,6-bis(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine-2-yloxy) benzoate known as herbicide bispyribac-sodium salt , further a manufacturing method capable of being conducted safely in an industrial scale. SOLUTION: There is provided a manufacturing method of compounds represented by the formula (3), especially sodium 2,6-bis(4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine-2-yloxy) benzoate, including reacting a compound represented by the formula (1) with a compound represented by the formula (2) in the presence of alkali metal hydroxide and in the presence of a solvent having relative dielectric constant of 5 to 80 and acceptor number of 0 to 60, excluding dimethyl sulphoxide.
