13573-16-5 Usage
Description
Reinecke salt, also known as ammonium tetrarhodanatodiamminechromate(III), is an ammonium salt that is characterized by its dark red crystals or powder. It is known for its ability to participate in the quantitative precipitation of histones and basic compounds present in an acid tissue extract by forming reineckate complexes.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Industry:
Reinecke salt is used as a precipitation reagent for the isolation of quaternary ammonium alkaloids (QAAs) in the dried powder of Rhizoma Corydalis. It aids in the quantitative analysis of these QAAs by facilitating their separation through MALDI-MS (Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization Mass Spectrometry).
Used in Analytical Chemistry:
Reinecke salt is used in the preparation and characterization of in situ Carbon paste and screen-printed potentiometric sensors for the determination of Econazole Nitrate, surface analysis using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and EDX (Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy), and the analysis of dyes and metabolites.
Used in Electrochemistry:
Reinecke salt is utilized for the fabrication of bulk Meldola blue-zirconium phosphate-Reinecke salt screen-printed electrodes (bMBZrPRs-SPEs), which are essential tools in the field of electrochemistry for various sensing applications.
Purification Methods
Crystallise it from water, between 30o and 0o, while working under artificial light. Solutions of reineckate salt (aqueous or alcoholic) decompose slowly at room temperature in the dark (~2 weeks) and more rapidly at higher temperatures or in diffuse sunlight. The solutions are blue in colour and liberate HCN (POISONOUS). Store it dry in the dark under a vacuum. [Dakin Org Synth Coll Vol II 555 1943.]
Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 13573-16-5 includes 8 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 5 digits, 1,3,5,7 and 3 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 1 and 6 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 13573-16:
(7*1)+(6*3)+(5*5)+(4*7)+(3*3)+(2*1)+(1*6)=95
95 % 10 = 5
So 13573-16-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
