2002-31-5 Usage

General Description

α-Hydroxy-α-phenylbenzeneacetic acid 3-(9-azabicyclo[3.3.1]nonan-9-yl)propyl ester, also known as baclofen, is a chemical compound often used as a skeletal muscle relaxant and as a treatment for spastic movement disorders. It is a derivative of the neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and works by binding to GABA receptors in the central nervous system, which helps to reduce muscle tension and spasms. Baclofen is commonly prescribed for conditions such as multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injuries, and cerebral palsy. While it has a relatively low abuse potential, it can cause side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, and weakness, and should be used with caution, particularly when combined with other central nervous system depressants.

The CAS Registry Mumber 2002-31-5 includes 7 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 4 digits, 2,0,0 and 2 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 3 and 1 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 2002-31:
(6*2)+(5*0)+(4*0)+(3*2)+(2*3)+(1*1)=25
25 % 10 = 5
So 2002-31-5 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
