Nickel(II) benzylisopropyldithiocarbamate complexes of the composition [Ni(bziPrdtc)2], [NiCl(bziPrdtc)(PPh3)]·CHCl3 and [NiX(bziPrdtc)(PPh3)] (X=Cl, Br, I, NCS; bz=C7H7, iPr=C3H7, dtc=S2CN-, PPh3=triphenylphosphine) have been synthesized. The complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, IR and electronic spectroscopies, thermal analysis, magnetochemical and conductivity measurements. A single crystal X-ray analysis of the [NiCl(bziPrdtc)(PPh3)]·CHCl3, [NiBr(bziPrdtc)(PPh3)] and [NiI(bziPrdtc)(PPh3)] confirms four-coordinated nickel in a distorted square-planar arrangement with the NiS2PX chromophore.
