Usage

General Description

1,2-DI[PERDEUTERO]HEXADECANOYL-SN-GLYCERO-3-PHOSPHOCHOLINE, also known as dilauroylphosphatidylcholine (DLPC), is a synthetic phospholipid commonly used in lipid bilayer studies and as a component of liposomes. It consists of a glycerol backbone with two long hydrocarbon tails, one of which is saturated with deuterium atoms. This modification makes the molecule useful for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) studies, as the deuterium atoms emit distinct signals in NMR spectra.
