Description
IPBT-5CA (306935-41-1) is a highly selective agonist for the human orphan G-protein-coupled receptor GPR109b (EC50 = 400 nM). No activity was reported at the highly homologous high-affinity niacin receptor GPR109a.
Biological Activity
Highly selective agonist for GPR109B (HM74), the human orphan G-protein-coupled receptor expressed in adipocytes. Selective for GPR109B over closely related niacin receptor GPR109A (HM74A); EC 50 values are 400 nM and > 1 μ M respectively. In vitro, inhibits isoproterenol-stimulated lipolysis in isolated human adipocytes.
