Description
(NAPHTHALEN-2-YLAMINO)-ACETIC ACID (3,5-DIBROMO-2,4-DIHYDROXY-BENZYLIDENE)-HYDRAZIDE, also known as GlyH-101, is a cell-permeable glycinyl hydrazone compound that acts as a potent, selective, and reversible open-channel blocker of the CFTR (Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane conductance Regulator) channel. It selectively and reversibly blocks the CFTR channel, binding to a site at the external pore of CFTR and rapidly preventing chloride transport. GlyH-101 has shown minimal effects on P-glycoprotein and non-CFTR-mediated Clcurrents and has been effective in nasal and intestinal epithelia in vivo.
Uses
Used in Pharmaceutical Applications:
(NAPHTHALEN-2-YLAMINO)-ACETIC ACID (3,5-DIBROMO-2,4-DIHYDROXY-BENZYLIDENE)-HYDRAZIDE is used as a CFTR channel blocker for the treatment of cystic fibrosis and related chloride transport disorders. It modulates the CFTR channel, reducing chloride transport and potentially alleviating symptoms associated with these conditions.
Used in Research Applications:
In the field of research, (NAPHTHALEN-2-YLAMINO)-ACETIC ACID (3,5-DIBROMO-2,4-DIHYDROXY-BENZYLIDENE)-HYDRAZIDE is used as a tool to study the function and regulation of CFTR channels. It helps researchers understand the role of these channels in various physiological processes and the development of potential therapeutic strategies for related diseases.
Used in Drug Development:
(NAPHTHALEN-2-YLAMINO)-ACETIC ACID (3,5-DIBROMO-2,4-DIHYDROXY-BENZYLIDENE)-HYDRAZIDE serves as a lead compound in the development of new drugs targeting CFTR channels. Its potent and selective blocking activity makes it a valuable starting point for designing more effective and specific therapeutic agents for cystic fibrosis and other related conditions.
Used in Cardiology:
(NAPHTHALEN-2-YLAMINO)-ACETIC ACID (3,5-DIBROMO-2,4-DIHYDROXY-BENZYLIDENE)-HYDRAZIDE is used as a blocker of cardiac I Cl.PKA channels, which may have potential applications in the treatment of certain cardiac conditions. Studies have shown that GlyH-101 blocks these channels in a similar fashion to that reported for recombinant CFTR, suggesting its potential use in modulating cardiac ion channel activity.

Check Digit Verification of cas no
The CAS Registry Mumber 328541-79-3 includes 9 digits separated into 3 groups by hyphens. The first part of the number, starting from the left, has 6 digits, 3,2,8,5,4 and 1 respectively; the second part has 2 digits, 7 and 9 respectively.
Calculate Digit Verification of CAS Registry Number 328541-79:
(8*3)+(7*2)+(6*8)+(5*5)+(4*4)+(3*1)+(2*7)+(1*9)=153
153 % 10 = 3
So 328541-79-3 is a valid CAS Registry Number.
