Uses

Used in Hair and Fur Dye Industry:
2,4-Diaminoanisole sulfate is used as a component in oxidizing "permanent" hairand fur-dye formulations for its ability to provide color and enhance the dyeing process. It was a prevalent ingredient in hair-dye formulations, with about 75% of them containing 2,4-diaminoanisole or its sulfate in 1978.
Used in Textile Industry:
2,4-Diaminoanisole is used as an intermediate in the production of C.I. basic brown 2, which has been utilized to dye various materials such as furs, acrylic fibers, cotton, wool, nylon, polyester, leather, and suede. Used in Shoe Polish Industry:

Incompatible with strong oxidizers (chlorates, nitrates, peroxides, permanganates, perchlorates, chlorine, bromine, fluorine, etc.); contact may cause fires or explosions.
